IREX be presented DR800SG e-reader. It may look like the Kindle, but it is not. The screen measures 8.1 in. diagonal, and the controls are a stylus touchscreen combo along with a control bar on the side that works like a joystick. The IREX makes newspapers intact with page layout, allowing the reader to articles on Zoom.
The device has an always-on connection via Verizon 3G (Do not worry. No subscription) fee. The company has also worked with Barnes & Noble for their e-book-shop partner. No PC is required, but the synchronization software is for Windows only. The DR800SG should be available at Best Buy in October.
It will be interesting to see how this is in the market. Seems to have everything users want. Plus, the company promises a color e-reader 2011.
